Apartment Outreaches
Zion Lutheran Church would like to invite you to join us as we share the love of Christ with refugee children this summer.
Every summer we do apartment outreaches to low income apartments in the Des Moines area.  The buildings that we visit are primarily lived in by refugee families.
We take a big party (chicken legs, fruit, veggies, dessert, a bounce house, face paints, tattoos, crafts and games) and have fun with the kids.
For many of the kids we serve, this will be the party they talk about when they go back to school.  Last summer one little girl told us that the day of the party was the best day of her whole summer!
If you would like to volunteer or donate, please visit any of the signupgenius pages below.

Spring Blood Drive
On Thursday, May 24th, 2018 the churches of St. Mary of Nazareth, St James Lutheran, and Zion Lutheran are co-sponsoring a blood drive to be held on the Bloodmobile at St Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church.  The drive will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Blood donors are needed to help make the drive a success. The St. Mary of Nazareth parish has had many very successful drives in the past and we hope that this drive will be just as successful.  The need for the blood is great and to donate is performing a very Christian service for the community. If you wish to donate, please contact David Miller at 208-0715 to schedule an appointment.
The STARS leadership team wants to celebrate and honor your service on May 23rd at a special dinner. If you can rsvp Amy Griffin at   or call the office Thank you for serving our students so faithfully.
