Last Tuesday Zion staff had their Annual Planning Meeting. It was a day to reflect on the achievements  of each ministry and looking ahead into the new year.
Thank you to those who attended the second Islamic Christian Dialog this past Sunday. It was a great time for conversation, food and fellowship.

Zion Lutheran Church Congregational Meeting 
Sunday January 28, 2018

The Board of Spiritual Oversight(BSO) has called for a special meeting of the Zion congregation on Sunday,  January 28, 2018, between both services. The purpose of the meeting is to review and vote on approval of an update to the Zion bylaws - Article XII. These bylaws changes pertain to updates recommended by the Trust Fund board and approved by the BSO to :

  1. Clarify the purpose of the Trust Fund
  2. Ease the restrictions to access Trust Fund funds in the event the church is facing a catastrophic event or dire emergency
  3. Modify the "charter" aspects of the Trust Fund Board

Zion's 1st Field Trip - February 4th
Zion's 1st Field Trip at Reconcilers Worship Center (920 31st, DM 50314}
Join us for worship with another area church. The service is at 11am and Rev. Billy Young, the pastor promises we will be done by 12:30pm. Zion will have regular services at 9am and 10;30am for those that can't join us.

Blood Drive
Join your fellow life savers by donating blood at the Thursday, February 1, blood drive at St. Mary of Nazareth Church from 3:00 - 6:00.  Schedule an appointment at www.lifeservebloodcenter.org, contact Faith Sherman at 278-2242, or sign up in the lobby on January 28.
Life Line Screening

Trivia Night 
Zion's Fourth Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser is coming up! The event will be hosted at the the FAA Enrichment Center DMACC in Ankeny on Friday, February 16th from 6:30PM-9:00PM Trivia night is a great event for adults to come together and compete in team trivia and also enjoy food, drink, and a silent auction. 100% of the proceeds will go towards summer Bible camp scholarships for Zion STARS Academy students.
